Altogether there are 140 thousand hectares (345,947.53 acres).<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Ministry of the Environment\u2019s initiative to implement ecological corridors aims to involve civil society and the public and private sectors to join forces for the conservation of vegetation and protection of biodiversity.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Between 2010 and 2012, Floresta Viva worked on actions that contributed to the implementation of the Corridor. It was responsible for environmental education and communication activities (production of a website, radio shows and signposts). It also carried out the restoration of 10 hectares (24.71 acres) and conducted a survey, together with the Geoprocessing Laboratory of UESC (State University of Santa Cruz), to better understand land use by residents of the region. <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/esperancaconduru.blogspot.com.co\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">site<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, programas de r\u00e1dio e placas sinalizadoras).
