The Serra Grande Botanical Garden (JBSG for its acronym in Portuguese) proposal emerged in 2018 and constitutes an innovative model that brings as a principle the maintenance <\/span>in situ<\/span><\/i> of Atlantic Forest species for the purpose of scientific research, conservation, exhibition and education.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The idea is that farmers and property owners located in the ecological corridor, when visualizing the existing botanical landscape as one, recognize themselves as interconnected links and part of the JBSG. By 2021, we formalized the Floresta Viva Nursery Unit and the Caititu Farm Unit as members of the JBSG Proposal, with support from Human Network Brasil.\u00a0<\/p>

Each of these units has a landscaping project to welcome visitors on interpretive trails, which provide an opportunity to appreciate specimens of local flora as well as information about their natural environment.<\/p>

In order to contribute to the emergence of a local and regional bioeconomy, the project finds synergy with various initiatives in the territory: stimulation of tropical silviculture with native species, rich agroforestry stands, sustainable furniture, paintings, music, crafts, cosmetics, food and gastronomy.<\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Prepared by our team with the support of Irina Biletska, an architect living in Serra Grande. One of the reasons for creating the plan for the Botanical Garden\u2019s \u2019Headquarters\u2019 was to create a focal point from which the Botanical Garden\u2019s actions can radiate throughout the region. The \u2019Headquarters\u2019 intends to generate self-sustaining activities for the maintenance of the primary actions to preserve and recover the Atlantic Forest ecosystem. Integrando as a\u00e7\u00f5es de pesquisa e conserva\u00e7\u00e3o da Mata Atl\u00e2ntica do Sul da Bahia, o Instituto Floresta Viva se tornou o guardi\u00e3o de uma \u00e1rea de 282 hectares, denominada Campo Cheiroso. A \u00e1rea est\u00e1 situada entre o distrito de Serra Grande e o munic\u00edpio de Itacar\u00e9.<\/span><\/p>

Com o compromisso de preservar a biodiversidade da Mata Atl\u00e2ntica do sul da Bahia, a atua\u00e7\u00e3o ser\u00e1 destinada \u00e0 transforma\u00e7\u00e3o do Campo Cheiroso em Reserva Particular do Patrim\u00f4nio Natural (RPPN).\u00a0 Este espa\u00e7o ser\u00e1 dedicado \u00e0 preserva\u00e7\u00e3o dos servi\u00e7os ecossist\u00eamicos e manancial de \u00e1guas, desenvolvimento cient\u00edfico e educa\u00e7\u00e3o ambiental, al\u00e9m da promo\u00e7\u00e3o do turismo cient\u00edfico e pedag\u00f3gico.<\/span><\/p>

O Campo Cheiroso abriga o ecossistema Mussununga, uma joia da Mata Atl\u00e2ntica Costeira, ainda pouco estudada e vulner\u00e1vel. A \u00e1rea conta com esp\u00e9cies end\u00eamicas e amea\u00e7adas, e, por isso, \u00e9 essencial promover sua conserva\u00e7\u00e3o.<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

O Instituto Floresta Viva foi um dos selecionados, no ano de 2023, no edital “Teia de Solu\u00e7\u00f5es” com foco em propostas fortalecedoras para \u00e1reas naturais protegidas.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Este edital \u00e9 realizado em parceria entre a Funda\u00e7\u00e3o Grupo Botic\u00e1rio de Prote\u00e7\u00e3o \u00e0 Natureza, a Funda\u00e7\u00e3o de Amparo \u00e0 Pesquisa do Estado da Bahia (FAPESB), a Funda\u00e7\u00e3o de Amparo \u00e0 Pesquisa do Estado de Goi\u00e1s (FAPEG) e o Governo do Paran\u00e1.<\/span><\/p>

Por meio do edital, o Instituto vem recebendo apoio financeiro para execu\u00e7\u00e3o de pesquisas na \u00e1rea do Campo Cheiroso, voltadas para o mapeamento da flora e fauna, an\u00e1lises de solo, campanhas de campo para di\u00e1logo com a comunidade local e levantamento de atrativos tur\u00edsticos de base comunit\u00e1ria.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Com o respaldo de especialistas em ecologia e bot\u00e2nica, buscamos preservar a diversidade de esp\u00e9cies de fauna e flora, muitas das quais s\u00e3o end\u00eamicas ou amea\u00e7adas de extin\u00e7\u00e3o. Nosso objetivo \u00e9 estabelecer um santu\u00e1rio de vida selvagem e um exemplo de conserva\u00e7\u00e3o para as futuras gera\u00e7\u00f5es.<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

No ano de 2023 o Floresta Viva completou 20 anos de atua\u00e7\u00e3o! Para celebrar este marco em nossa hist\u00f3ria, realizamos, em nossa sede, um evento de anivers\u00e1rio. Com mais de 80 convidados que inclu\u00edam pessoas da nossa equipe, conselheiros do Instituto, pesquisadores, l\u00edderes de organiza\u00e7\u00f5es do terceiro setor, autoridades do poder p\u00fablico, acad\u00eamicos de universidades, membros da comunidade local e doadores, tivemos um dia repleto de trocas e homenagens para a equipe.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Como apoiador t\u00e9cnico e decorativo, marcamos presen\u00e7a na VI edi\u00e7\u00e3o do Festival de Arte e Gastronomia e na segunda edi\u00e7\u00e3o do Festival de Blues e Jazz de Serra Grande. Com mudas de esp\u00e9cies nativas da Mata Atl\u00e2ntica, destacamos a import\u00e2ncia da preserva\u00e7\u00e3o ambiental e o papel das florestas na manuten\u00e7\u00e3o da biodiversidade e do clima. Al\u00e9m disso, durante o Festival de Blues e Jazz recepcionamos em nossa sede uma oficina de produ\u00e7\u00e3o de instrumentos musicais sustent\u00e1veis com o m\u00fasico e produtor Palazin.<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

A Universidade Comunit\u00e1ria \u00e9 uma iniciativa realizada pela Tab\u00f4a que busca facilitar o acesso e promover o di\u00e1logo entre os muitos saberes existentes no territ\u00f3rio de Serra Grande, valorizando conhecimentos locais.<\/span><\/p>

Os colaboradores do Floresta Viva C\u00e9lio Haroldo de Jesus e Nilson Ant\u00f4nio dos Santos foram convidados a compartilhar seus conhecimentos no curso de Produ\u00e7\u00e3o de Mudas Nativas da Mata Atl\u00e2ntica. A forma\u00e7\u00e3o foi realizada nos dias 21 e 22 de outubro e contou com a participa\u00e7\u00e3o de 12 pessoas. Atrav\u00e9s de atividades te\u00f3ricas e pr\u00e1ticas foram compartilhadas informa\u00e7\u00f5es sobre a produ\u00e7\u00e3o de esp\u00e9cies de \u00e1rvores nativas da Mata Atl\u00e2ntica do Sul da Bahia e como utiliz\u00e1-las em programas de reflorestamento.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
