Native Seedling Nursery<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Localizado na Rodovia Serra Grande\/ Uru\u00e7uca, o Viveiro do Instituto Floresta Viva foi inaugurado em 2009, fruto de uma parceria com a Funda\u00e7\u00e3o SOS Mata Atl\u00e2ntica.<\/span><\/p>

Com a infraestrutura criada, o viveiro estabeleceu uma capacidade de produ\u00e7\u00e3o de at\u00e9 100 mil mudas de esp\u00e9cies florestais por ano. A experi\u00eancia com as \u00e1rvores nativas deste bioma gerou, ao longo desses 15 anos de <\/span>exist\u00eancia do viveiro, a identifica\u00e7\u00e3o e multiplica\u00e7\u00e3o de mais de 140 esp\u00e9cies, muitas delas end\u00eamicas e amea\u00e7adas de extin\u00e7\u00e3o.<\/span><\/p>

Em\u00a0 2023, foram produzidas cerca de 40 mil mudas, focamos na produ\u00e7\u00e3o de 60 esp\u00e9cies de mudas de \u00e1rvores nativas, de acordo com a lista apresentada nos anexos do relat\u00f3rio.<\/p>

As 60 esp\u00e9cies que<\/span> comp\u00f5em a lista foram selecionadas levando em considera\u00e7\u00e3o aspectos como log\u00edstica de coleta, beneficiamento, comportamento da germina\u00e7\u00e3o e demanda externa para atender projetos e programas de restaura\u00e7\u00e3o florestal e sistemas de cultivos agroflorestais.<\/span><\/p>

A educa\u00e7\u00e3o ambiental desempenha um papel fundamental nas a\u00e7\u00f5es de conserva\u00e7\u00e3o e restaura\u00e7\u00e3o desenvolvidas pelo Instituto Floresta Viva. \u00c9 atrav\u00e9s dela que promovemos a conscientiza\u00e7\u00e3o e o engajamento da comunidade local e sensibilizamos crian\u00e7as e adultos a se tornarem agentes ativos na prote\u00e7\u00e3o e preserva\u00e7\u00e3o da Mata Atl\u00e2ntica.\u00a0<\/p>

Ao longo do ano de 2023, promovemos diversas iniciativas de educa\u00e7\u00e3o ambiental em nossa sede. Foram mais de 350 alunos de escolas e universidades da rede p\u00fablica e privada, dos munic\u00edpios de Itacar\u00e9, Ilh\u00e9us, Teixeira de Freitas, Salvador, Nilo Pe\u00e7anha, Igrapi\u00fana, Jussari, Arataca e Itabuna. As sementes utilizadas no viveiro s\u00e3o coletadas, em sua grande maioria, pela equipe t\u00e9cnica do IFV. The seeds used in the Nursery are purchased from small farmers in the APA Costa de Itacar\u00e9-Serra Grande. There are more than 40 families associated with a network of parent trees (seed suppliers) identified by Floresta Viva, who experience in practice the benefits of keeping forests standing. The technical team at IFV not only collects seeds, but also provides technical assistance to these farmers so that they can produce their own seedlings with quality.<\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

The Instituto Floresta Viva nursery was inaugurated in 2009, the result of a partnership with Funda\u00e7\u00e3o SOS Mata Atl\u00e2ntica. The nursery's initial focus was to meet a demand for the production of seedlings for a restoration project in the Serra do Conduru State Park. With the infrastructure created, the Nursery established a production capacity of up to 100,000 seedlings of forest species per year.<\/p>

The seeds used in the nursery are mostly collected by the IFV technical team, which maintains a close relationship with producers and farm owners in the municipalities of Uru\u00e7uca, Itacar\u00e9, Una and Ilh\u00e9us. After being benefited and germinated, the seeds take around four to six months to become seedlings ready for planting.<\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

The Nursery is usually open to the general public, interested in learning about the various stages of reforestation: the choice of seeds, the development of seedlings, and the maintenance necessary for the full growth of plants. Visitors also have the opportunity to walk through an educational ecotrail and contemplate various species that inhabit the Atlantic Forest, including specimens of Conduru, Pau-brasil and Pau d\u2019arco.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
